Terms & Conditions

The pupil confirms that they hold a valid driving licence with the appropriate category to drive the tuition vehicle, pupils must inform the instructor should they receive any penalties or endorsements or their licence is suspended, revoked or withdrawn for any legal or medical reason.

 

The pupil confirms that they meet the legal eyesight standard for driving motor vehicles, pupils should inform the instructor should their eyesight fall below this standard at any time.

 

The pupil confirms that either they are medically fit to drive or, should any medical condition exist, have obtained the required permissions and advised the DVLA of such, the pupil also confirms that should they be taking any medication that may affect their driving ability, either temporarily or permanently that they will inform the instructor of such.

 

In the event of unexpected circumstances including but not limited to mechanical failure, the instructor reserves the right to cancel or rearrange lessons at short notice.

 

Payment for a pupil’s first lesson with Littleover Driving School must be made by BACS transfer prior to the booking being confirmed. Subsequent lessons must be paid for at least 48 hours in advance of the lesson start time or the provision of that lesson cannot be guaranteed.

 

Littleover Driving School reserves the right to amend any lesson fee with reasonable prior notification to the pupil.

 

Any refund of prepaid tuition fees requested by the pupil will be made after the deduction of fees for any completed tuition time.

A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for cancellation or rearrangement of lessons. Failure to give this minimum notice will result in the pupil forfeiting the lesson fee paid to the instructor.

 

Lessons are of 1.5- or 2-hours duration, in the event that a lesson is required to be terminated early due to unexpected circumstances including but not limited to mechanical failure, any remaining time may be added to subsequent lessons.

 

The fee for use of a tuition vehicle during a driving test does not include the DVSA booking fee which must be paid separately by the pupil.

 

Littleover Driving School’s primary aim is to ensure road safety at all times. At any point during tuition the instructor may take control of the vehicle. The instructor will make every effort to instruct the pupil to the highest standard but can in no way be held liable for any errors that the pupil may make whilst driving and not accompanied by the instructor either before or after a test pass.

 

The instructor will endeavour to provide instruction in accordance with current standards in the minimum number of tuition hours required.

 

Driving tests may only be arranged with the prior agreement of both the pupil and instructor.

 

Should the pupil book a driving test without prior agreement of the instructor, availability of the instructor and / or tuition vehicle cannot be guaranteed.

 

Littleover Driving School reserves the right to refuse the use of a tuition vehicle for a driving test should the pupil’s driving ability not be at the required standard.

 

Any complaints are to be dealt with in accordance with the ADI code of practice and should be raised with the instructor in the first instance.

 

The instructor reserves the right to refuse to proceed with a lesson if they have reason to believe the pupil is unfit to drive through drink, drugs, medical illness or any other reason. In this instance the tuition fee paid by the pupil will be forfeited to the instructor.

 

The instructor will accept no liability for accidents, injury or damage to the pupil, tuition vehicle or any third party caused by the pupil’s failure to follow instruction, recklessness or negligence during a lesson. Damages caused will be payable by the pupil.

 

Littleover Driving School or its instructors can accept no liability for damage to tuition vehicles or any third-party property occurring on driving tests. Should any damage occur when the pupil is undertaking a driving test the pupil will be liable for the costs incurred for any required repairs and / or insurance excesses.

 

In the event that the instructor arrives late for an arranged lesson, any time lost will be added either to the end of that lesson or subsequent lessons.

 

Should the pupil be late for an arranged lesson, any time lost will be forfeited and the lesson will finish at the scheduled time.

 

Should the pupil be under the age of 18 at the time of commencing driving tuition with Littleover Driving School, these terms and conditions must be read and agreed to by an appropriate parent or guardian of the pupil, as well as the pupil, and they agree to assume all responsibilities of the pupil as mentioned above.

 

Littleover Driving School reserves the right to amend or withdraw any part of these terms and conditions without prior notice.
